TITLE
Future Sweets That Brings Joy to All

A collection of sweets imagined by children for the future.
These creations may hold a secret to spreading happiness.
Sweets bring a small dose of happiness and peaceful moments to our hearts. While sweets are not essential for survival, they may serve as “nourishment for the soul,” brimming with dreams and joy. So, how about indulging in a little daydream about the sweets of a future we have yet to discover?
Children aged 9 to 11 from Japan and several other countries were invited to submit ideas for sweets under the theme “Sweets That Make Everyone Happy.” Over 400 ideas were collected, and approximately 34 of them were selected through a judging process and brought to life by professional CG designers for this exhibition.
During the Expo, we are also running a collaborative project with Ezaki Glico Co., Ltd., welcoming idea submissions from people of all ages. A selection of randomly submitted sketches is displayed throughout the venue.

The panel of judges was made up of adults who truly love sweets: Yukio Hattori, Toshihiko Yoroizuka, Chie Morimoto, and Nozomi Sasaki. Reviewing the children’s ideas from their unique perspectives led to a joyful, heartwarming, and smile-filled judging session.
We hope these ideas will inspire everyone to imagine their own version of a sweet that brings happiness to the world. What kind of treat would you create, and who would you share it with to make them smile? We invite you to share your ideas with EARTH MART. Selected entries may even appear on the digital signage in the exhibit during the Expo!

In the “Sweets That Make Everyone Happy” judging session held in May 2024, Yukio Hattori, who sadly passed away in October of the same year, joined us as one of the judges. He carefully read through the children’s submissions beforehand and brought his own handwritten notes to the session. We were told he had been looking forward to seeing this exhibition come to life. We would like to express our heartfelt condolences.
